About UWAP

UWA Publishing

Producers of fine books and new ideas, UWA Publishing (UWAP) continues to expand the boundaries of academic publishing, striving for social, cultural and intellectual renewal.

Award-winning fiction and non-fiction works illustrate its strength and diversity in a modern university. UWAP’s impetus is to make a contribution to the culture we operate from, and to do so with foresight and rigour.

A division of The University of Western Australia, UWAP has been publishing important books since 1935.

UWA Publishing Scholarly

Academic monographs play an important role as disseminators of research findings in the university sector. We look for lively writing and cogent arguments in the fields of humanities and social sciences, and the natural sciences.

A publishing subsidy may be required to assist in production costs and to ensure that we can reasonably price a standard-sized book at between $40–50. Books are produced in both print and eBook formats.

In recent years, many bookshops have reduced their stocks of specialist books. In introducing this series we will rely upon direct marketing and social media to announce new titles and the primary sales outlet for books will be our online store at www.uwap.com.au.

UWA Publishing Custom

Staples

The Charles and Joy Staples South West Region Publications Fund was established in 1984 by a generous donation to The University of Western Australia by Charles and Joy Staples.

The purpose of the Staples Fund is to make the results of research on the South West of Western Australia widely available to assist the South West community.

The Fund also aims to help those in government and private organisations concerned with South West projects to appreciate the needs and possibilities of the region in the widest possible historical perspective.
